¡La primavera está aquí!

We found another adult tortoise yesterday on the edge of a building site, so brought it home away from the machinery. Although it pooed and hissed all the way back, it seemed happy enough in the garden.
This morning, while putting bread out for the birds, I heard a repeated clunking sound followed by a soft "oooh!". Looks like the new, as yet unnamed tortuga is male, and is enjoying the favours of his ready-made harem, and in this case it was Gonzalez who was vocalising. Maxie came out to give them a good barking-at, but they were undeterred, only terminating the activity when the female ran off, forcing the hapless male to be dragged along too, much as happens with dogs. I should have got a bucket of cold water.
