Kingdom of Days

An incredibly emotional day, saying goodbye and celebrating the life of Kyle Hardie - the husband of one of my senior team, Alison and father to their 12 year old.

It was a humanist ceremony and it was really beautifully done - moving and funny tributes from friends and family, creating a great sense of what a wonderful man he was - cruelly taken far too soon and far too fast by cancer.

In his final days Kyle approached his death as his “last project” - including a 21 page handover document, which sums him up perfectly. He chose the music for today - including Kingdom of Days by Bruce Springsteen as his own tribute to Alison.

He will be remembered with so much love - talented, courageous, warm and loving. And as he said in his own eulogy - read out bravely by a friend - wherever his “beautiful girls” go, they will take him with them.
