Little blue boys
I had a lovely day back in Henley today beginning with brunch with former neighbour, Susan, after which we met up with Sam the young rower who lived with me and Tom last year.
I had forgotten how many athletes there are in Henley, in the tiny cafe of 7 tables there were two former Olympians, and a host of GB athletes - mainly rowers of course, but a skier too. Will Satch who won golds at London and Rio was sat at the next table playing scrabble (yes Henley is THAT exciting!). It reminded me and Sam of those evenings after he and Tom got in from training and we played 20 minute scrabble to see who got to do the washing up.
The board was duly passed our way and Sam beat me for the first time. He's is a lovely young man, happy to spend a couple of hours with a 73 and a 50 year old (he's 23!).
Afterwards Susan and I browsed in the shops whilst she bemoaned the ageing population of Henley. Then I saw this giant poster in the window of Boots.....
