Homeward

Well, another good trip, mostly thanks to Turkish Airlines. Ercan to Istanbul. 1 hour 40 minutes journey time, and they managed to arrive 25 minutes early!

Now I’m Blipping from the rooftop terrace at the guesthouse, whilst also watching sunset over the Bosphorus. Reality will resume with a nasty bump at Edinburgh Airport tomorrow.

Doǧan’s brother Sadek happened to pop into the guesthouse while I was there this afternoon. I hadn’t seen him for 10 years. There was a lot of catching up done in 20 minutes.

It has been lovely weather here today - warm sunshine but a cool breeze from the Black Sea to keep it comfortable. Ideal for wandering about. Half the city had the same idea, but what can you do...

The Blip is the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet Camii, to give it its real name) with a blue background at dusk, the photo taken from where I’m sitting to write and post this Blip.

My flight passed over Mount Uludaǧ on approach to the airport today, so a shot of it is an Extra. It is home to “Turkey’s most fashionable ski resort”, the guide book proclaims. I can’t see me coming here for winter sports, mind you.
