The Old and the New

For some time now I have been meaning to do something about our old guest patio shutters. I bought the wood and fixings months ago and have been waiting for the ‘right time’. This week was it. The old shutters were rotten through. A finger could have pushed through to the other side - not the greatest security. So, measured - twice, cut, glued, screwed and nailed the bits together from scratch. It all fitted, amazingly. Mrs SoL leapt into painting mode as soon as this picture was taken. Final colour tbc, but the results seem ok. Second pic is of the undercoated pair in place.
