The Valley of Desolation

We did a favourite walk the other way round to normal - and it made for what felt like a completely different walk. Lots of ups and downs, great views over  the area and a lovely stretch by the river.

I love the name of this part of the walk. 'The Valley of Desolation' sounds so dramatic and in reality is just gorgeous and a lot less ominous than it sounds!
