In the Nature of an Experiment

We've had a lovely sunny, warm day here and TM and I have been very industrious - out in the garden, with our three-page to-do list, beavering away. I have managed to score one thing off, I think he has done rather better.

We rewarded ourselves with a glass of wine and I thought I'd try to take a picture through mine, rather like the crystal ball pictures that I've seen on here.  It didn't quite work as I expected, but I do like the effect, it looks as if we live on the banks of an alpine lake .... if only ...

Once, when No 1 son was a toddler, I was unburdening myself to my neighbour, the mother of 4 grown children.  Her reply, "Well, he was in the nature of an experiment" has passed into family folklore, for use when one is not sure if something has turned out right!
