Upper Wharfedale
We went out to lunch at Cray, which is just down the road a few miles. We thought it would be good to have a little walk before lunch to sharpen our appetites but it just seemed so cold out in the wind that we drove past the pub and enjoyed the scenery from the van as we drove on through Buckden and Kettlewell. When we got back to Cray I walked down the road a short way to photograph the River Wharfe at the falls which are quite close to the roadside.
We had a great roast lunch at The White Lion and afterwards I walked up the road to take this photo. It seemed like a real bonus to have the two things that sum up this area for me, a waterfall and a stone barn in the same shot.
I've now made an album for this trip and you can see some other pics here from today and yesterday if you'd like to see them.
