1940s weekend, Winchcombe

In the face of a chilly damp day, the volunteers for the annual GWSR 1940s weekend still put up a good show and a few hardy onlookers listened to speeches by "George VI,  Winston Churchill and Field Marshall Montgomery" at Winchcombe's town cross.  The main events were held at the steam railway stations at Cheltenham and Toddington and enthusiasts dress for the occasion and travel on the train in style.
