Our Day Out

Took a trip down the centre of the island to see the Pamplemousse Botanical gardens (see extra of giant Amazonian water lilies) and the crater of the dormant volcano at Trou aux Cerfs, then on to Grand Bassin, a lake surrounded by Hindu temples.

From here we headed further south to Black River Gorge (other extra) where runaway slaves once hid, then on to the waterfall at Chamerel which is the main photo
