Resting Gondolas

Even at the end of October there are masses of tourists in Venice, parties with guides, school groups , cruise ships... all of them massing round St Marks square and the obvious tourist attractions.
Get off the beaten track into the alley ways of 'domestic' Venice and it all changes, just locals shopping, going to school, hanging out, hanging out the washing , relaxing, just like these unemployed gondolas.....
A message for my 'regular' blip friends, I expect to be out of touch for up to week, but normal service will be resumed, hopefully with some back blips, later.
