Spring sunset

The 30th April / 1st May combo is a big thing in Finland - Vappu / Walpurgis night. It's their equivalent of Carnival. We're largely bypassing all the celebrations, like the washing of Havis Amanda, but in the lovely twilight yesterday there were loads of people having picnics in the park, playing mölkky, and generally larking around with white caps on.

While I worked, and popped to the gym, Mr A headed out to the airport to meet our friend T, who is working here for the week. It's great to see her! After dinner here, we then took her around the usual circuit, including a sit, but no coffee or bun at Regatta, where there were loads of people milling around. The light was amazing. I've opened a new album on flickr, and closed the old one.
