We have residents!!!

We fitted a bird box with camera to the side of the house when we moved in 3yrs ago and this is the first time that it has been occupied.

I noticed a blue tit heading for the box by chance, when in the garden feeding a fairly tame blackbird. We hadn’t checked the monitor recently and were most surprised to find a nest and 6 eggs!!

The camera is a bit off centre so we are missing the lower edge of the nest. Mum is very busy and caring, spending most of the time sitting and rearranging the nesting materials.

We had great tits nesting for several years at our old house in Essex. They provided a great deal of entertainment.
