Tomb
During excavation and restoration work in the 20s and 30s, this fragment of wall-painting was discovered on the south side of the nave of the (now ruined, 2nd) church. From its position, it was worked out that it must have been from the tomb of Bishop John de Leycestre, of Dunkeld who was interred here in 1214.
What remains shows the folds of the robes (surplices?) of some of the canons at John's requiem mass (probably). A very rare survival from back then.
