Searchlight

This building held the powerful lights which shone along the line of the boom defences strung across the Forth to trap U-boats which tried to get to the Naval dockyard upstream.
I don't think that the net ever bulged...
My granddad was stationed here early in the war, his trawler was converted to a minesweeper, and he opened a gate in the boom to let vessels through.
