Miraculous Machinery at the Marina...

...for Wide Angle Wednesday today...
Thanks Bob! I did have one with a bird crossing the gap, but I liked this one better ;) The yellow tripod base had been brought down from Wallsend on a barge, and as we arrived it was being winched up on the huge crane, which is actually on a boat. The crew were being taken back aboard in a basket!
Aegir is a deep water construction vessel - and this is one of five wind turbine jackets bound for Aberdeen, one at a time, on the ship over the next few weeks!

The extra is for Whensday - I am off to Newcastle tonight to meet up with some old school friends, and this is a shot of them at school in 1969! If I can persuade them to have a group shot taken - without the shoulder lift - I'll post it as an extra tomorrow ;)
