After a three hour delay in Portland and an uneventful quiet flight over the Atlantic, I was able to catch a train to Hamburg with only one stop...I will arrive only one hour later than originally planned.
These ICEs are so fast and quiet that I had plenty of time for reading and for trying to catch a glimpse of the beautiful May landscape of Germany. Here you see an anonymous village with such typical buildings that it could be any village. What a difference to the houses in the West of the US
