Notorious Frank Miller Dredd cover art [detail]

Another day of marking, so here's a blast from the past: a Judge Dredd cover by legendary US comics creator Frank Miller that never saw print. The image became notorious when it didn't appear on the 10th anniversary issues of the Judge Dredd Megazine [read my version of what happened here]. The original art was subsequently sold at auction with all proceeds going to charity, but I still have the photographic print that was sent to the editorial office. The detail you can see above looks great, classic Miller - alas, the rest of it was less... inspired.
