I learnt of this place as "Oliver's view" on our first tour of town on the Fire Appliance about 40yrs ago.
I wish Alice had bequeathed me her memory when she left because the bloke who told me has "finished his shift" so I can't ask him either; I vaguely remember something about a son called Oliver, but can not for the life of me remember if it sported a name or was merely "known as Oliver's View" or exactly why.
I, also have a feeling that it used to be more than the single Premise it now seems to be.
