The Edinburgh BCS has its monthly meeting tonight, and for once I can make it - breaking my fast with diluted apple juice on the way.
Chris Rees, the president of the BCS is talking about the ethics of AI. What might have been a dull session got enlivened by some forceful interactions from the audience - particularly a disagreement about mind/body duality. The recording will soon be available from: http://www.edinburgh.bcs.org/events/past_events.htm
Angus is still at aikido, so I commandeer his computer to fit in a bit of last minute work. Then he calls for a lift from Watson Crescent. We return to the flat for him and Ferdi to footle around for an hour or so, lugging equipment and copying mp3s.
Half a cup of tomato soup and some morsels of stale focaccia.
