Arrival of the Mrs.

My hummingbird photographs improve as the season progresses, but a first photo of our female resident is exciting even if it's not very crisp. She's lovely, a bit bigger than he is actually. She has a white throat, of course he has the splashy red gorget. I would have endured the herring flies to catch a better shot, but the skies have opened suddenly and it's pouring at the moment.

For the Record, 
This day came in very hot and slightly humid. Showers have moved in and there might be a rumble of thunder as well as the afternoon wears on.

All hands woke up this morning to the singing of the returning House Wrens, Jenny and Joe as I call him. He is  actually the singer and both are incredibly busy and nosey! I love them.
