The Incredibles!
There are moments in life that leave you both amazed and humbled......all at the same time!
When I first met Carol (left) and Jessica (right) I had no idea at all of the challenges they had faced, or the courage they had needed when they had to embrace the devastating news of an unwelcome visitor (cancer) invading their lives.
Carol is a breast cancer survivor, having completed her treatment 3 years ago and now enjoying a very full and busy life back in her home city of Glasgow.
Jessica is a cancer survivor, not once, but twice, and has now been cancer free for the past 28 years.
Both of these incredible folk left huge footsteps in which to follow when I found myself to be a breast cancer patient survivor!
Their encouragement and support have generated those all so precious moments that 'amaze and humble you' and leave you knowing that you are not journeying alone.
Thank you Carol for keeping me right with the radiotherapy. Knowing frizzle and burn were normal took a lot of hassle out of the process, and being able to more fully understand the energy surges...(or not!!!) was such a help. I think mine were more of the 'or not' kind!!! Was encouraged too with the great news that all those little hair follicles would one day re-ignite and I could shelve the polish, disband with the bandanas and bring on the shampoo once more!!
Thank you too Jessica, for just being there, encouraging as ever. Time is such a precious commodity and you have given so much just to 'touch base' over these past months. I've long admired your incredibly positive attitutude to life and am awed at the size of feet you have....your shoes would be so hard to fill!
You two are.....without a doubt.......The Incredibles!
Thank you for letting me blip you!
