Somerset Rural Life Museum
I spent today with an old friend, M-R in Street; as a birthday present we went to the Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury. It has been revamped and it is excellent although the life of a farmworker in Butleigh - John Hodges is no longer on display.
The tithe barn is magnificent and beautifully lit with sound effects of horses and workers. The old cart is one which belonged to the farm where the museum is now based.
I was also struck by the iron sculpture of a work horse in the courtyard.
We had a really full and interesting day - always good to have a catch-up.
