Reflecting royal spoonbills
Lovey still morning, and there were three spoonbills perched on at old tree at Brooklands lagoon.
The only thing spoiling the day was the repeated sound of gunfire as the duck hunters shot endlessly at the poor ducks. I'm afraid I just don't understand that as a sport. Sad for the ducks that are killed, the wildlife that is disturbed, and worst of all for the many ducks that are maimed and go on to endure a lingering death. I'll be walking elsewhere until the shooting season is over.
Mind you the ducks seem to know what's up in many cases and make their way to somewhere that is safer - good for them!
