The Heart of Spain

Puerta del Sol, Madrid with its iconic clock tower which is the centre of attention as it chimes in each New Year and 45 million Spaniards knock back a grape on every stroke!

We needed to come on visa business and just decided yesterday to advance the trip to make sure any last minute hiccups could be worked out.

Cold but dry and the Madrilenos are making a big thing about Halloween; never seen so many costumed people in one place in my life!
