Tea Time

A lady in my Pilates class who lives on my road is leaving to be near her daughter. So a few of her neighbours gathered at my house for a late afternoon tea party to say goodbye - orange curd cake freshly made and a success. My baking (and cooking) can be a bit hit and miss. Great Grandma's tea set came out - this came via my mother's cousin so it might not be an ancestral set at all. Anyway I'm using it. I think the large sugar bowl was probably used for slops originally and the giant saucer under the cake was meant to go underneath the bowl. I really enjoyed the chat - I'm always a bit nervous about taking the social initiative and thought no one might be able to come but in the event they could and did.
