Sedge Warbler
Dragged husband out of bed again so we could beat the crowds.....or so I said ;)
There had been reports of Wood Sandpipers and Yellow Wagtails at Lunt Meadows, so as it's only 20 minutes away, off we went.
It wasn't very busy, only half a dozen cars in the car park, so not as busy as we thought it would be. Lapwings nesting on the field in next to the car park greeted us with their chicks, and the noisy sound of sedge warblers was with us all the way around. It was very warm - around 24 degrees, but there was not much about at all. After a couple of hours, we were a bit hot and bothered so headed off home.
After a light lunch we then tackled some weeds and brambles in the garden until around 4pm and then off for the second shower of the day.
We are off to my parents' for dinner - we hope it's roast beef - we've not had that for ages!!!
Hope your day has been full of sunshine and happiness too. Might have to leave the commenting until tomorrow if we get back late.
