Sad end

She was lying, newly deceased, by the back door. Probably exhausted and dehydrated, given the frantic searching for nest sites that is going on in my garden just now. Her wings were so lovely in the light that I just had to take a picture.
It's been a funny old day, really. It's my late husband's birthday, which normally passes with just an acknowledgement, if I remember (he's been gone 11 years). For some reason I have been a snivelling wreck for most of the afternoon. I blame this on a lack of body power and non-hurting bits, which inhibits what I want to do in the garden.
I also blame lack of caffeine, as I have really cut back on it (arthritis in thumbs). Thus I decided a pick me up was needed - (extra). (I very rarely drink when home alone, which is most of the time).
