New for 2018
Today's blip is a Camassia flower, new in our garden
The Camassia grows from a bulb and originated in North America. The bulbs were harvested after the flowers withered and could be stored over winter. They were a staple food for the Native Americans and the settlers. The bulbs could be roasted or boiled or could be dried and then ground to make a flour.
