Un-stately

Two very different parts to the day - started out at Calke Abbey, the National Trust's un-stately home.

It was given to the Trust in the 80's and was in a state of disrepair and decline. The NT decided to conserve it in that state, to help tell the history of the English stately home. Even the rubbish is being conserved!

After lunch, headed over to Donington Park to amble around the paddock. The next two days will be the races for the Donington Historic Festival.

The cars will be old, smelly and loud!
