When Fergus visited Ossian's Hall
Much warmer and sunny !
We went to the Hermitage, near Dunkeld, to walk in Perthshire's "big tree country".
We followed the Braan walk through the forest, beside the river Braan. A lovely walk though another woodland gorge with waterfalls and in the Hermitage the folly of Ossian's Hall. Above the Hermitage grounds the walk extends through farmland to the Rumbling Bridge where there is a fast flowing waterfall which runs through a steep narrow defile under the road. On the way back down the gorge we came across a totem pole carving with a birds head and a fish carved into either side. We enjoyed the Hermitage and would recommend.
We drove round to Dunkeld and had a wander round. There were two lovely old painted signs in window spaces that I really liked. Colourful. We had lunch on the little terrace behind Spill the Beans dog friendly cafe by the Cathedral (which isn't dog friendly but Apothecary7 had a quick look round).
Later we had a last drive round to Highland Safaris at Dull and finished the day with tea and cakes.
