Secret Garden Door
We often go walking in the streets near where we live and on one of our walks a year ago we spotted this secret door to the back of a private property. Many of houses in this area were designed by the same architect in the mid 1920, using the local sand stone.
While the door was briefly open we saw inside to a beautiful secret garden.
The entrance has been dug out from the stony bank that you can see continuing on the right hand side of the photo. There is a flat area on the other side of the door, with the stone work replaced over the top of the door, making a small citadel inside! A private castle! See the scene in LARGE.
This door to the secret garden can be found in a quiet street near the famous Windy Point Restaurant at Belair. Across the road from the doors, looking in the opposite direction, there are breathtaking panoramic views across the Adelaide Hills to the city of Adelaide. That will be a future blip with the view from Windy Point at sunset.
Followers of my blips may recall I have a fascination with wooden doors. Back on September 24th I blipped some Hispanic doors from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
