Old Technology
One of the things I kept from Gill's mum's. A tape jointing block from the days of reel to reel audio recorders.
Gill's father was a serious classical music fan and used to set a large TEAC machine to record programmes on Radio 3. For the pieces he decided to keep, this jointing block would be used to cut out the relevant section of the tape and splice it into a longer length which stayed on a reel with a catalogue written on the outside of the box.
When I first started with the BBC back in 1981, this sort of skill was still being taught to people on the radio courses. Can't imagine it was many years before it was superseded by digital editing suites. .
A quick indoor blip as I have only had 3 hrs of sleep and am putting my body clock back to normal :-)
