Green Hairstreak

delighted to have seen dozens of these tiny (1cm) butterflies today! Had to lead a group of Natural History walkers and was , firstly, pleased we got a lovely morning and then, to see so many of these wee gems that none of them had ever seen before. Also , saw Curlew, Oystercatchers, Lapwing, Wheatear, Meadow Pipits, a Kestrel, a Buzzard, Greylag Geese, Wigeon and the Blackheaded Gull nesting colony. There were Tiger Beetles too.
Will return on my own to get a decent shot of the Hairstreak.. It was not easy, as they were on Cow Berries and Blaeberries, their food source and it was windy. The extra shows some of the problem.
