Ossian's Hall and the Hermitage
A warmer and sunnier start to the day.
We went to the Hermitage, near Dunkeld, to walk in Perthshire's "big tree country".
We followed the Braan walk through the forest, beside the river Braan. A lovely walk though another woodland gorge with waterfalls and in the Hermitage the folly of Ossian's Hall. Above the Hermitage grounds the walk extends through farmland to the Rumbling Bridge where there is a fast flowing waterfall which runs through a steep narrow defile under the road. On the way back down the gorge we came across a totem pole carving with a birds head and a fish carved into either side. We enjoyed the Hermitage and would recommend this walk.
My image is of the inside of Ossian's Hall.
We drove round to Dunkeld and had a wander round.
My extra of the heart spotted in Dunkeld seemed appropriate as this part of Scotland is marketed as being the heart of Scotland.
We had lunch on the little terrace behind Spill the Beans dog friendly cafe by the Cathedral.
Later we had a last drive round to Highland Safaris at Dull and finished the day with tea and cakes.
