Life on the edge.
A beautiful day at Bempton Cliffs.
Sun sea and birds. Lots of them.
Gannets
Kittiwakes
Guillemots
Razorbills
and everyone’s favourite, the little puffins.
All the birds clinging precariously to the cliffs. Circling high above or swimming in the sea below.
A sight which both thrills and amazes us every year, and today we had perfect weather too.
We also saw a Great skua.
Pointed out to us by an RSPB helper. It was swimming in the sea eating a guillemot.
Again difficult to decide which photo to chose, but although I liked my shot of the puffin,
( see extra) it was the two gannets which won today.
We then went to Bridlington and our favourite fish and chip cafe, which rounded off the day nicely.
Had a walk along the harbour, and watched them unloading the boxes of crabs.( extra)
We were surprised to learn that they were all going down to Cornwall.
So when you are on holiday, and have a crab sandwich down there , it may have been caught off the Yorkshire coast!
Thank you all so much for your kind comments, stars and hearts for the cherry blossom blip.
It is only short lived but is so beautiful for a few days.
27C today. Hot and sunny, but a nice breeze by the sea.
I wonder how long this lovely weather will last?
