Dingy Skipper

At last a full day out on the Downs with the spaniel looking for butterflies. I saw 13 different species today and increased my overall species count for the year to 18 adding Wall, Small Copper and, most exciting, the Dingy Skipper. The latter is increasingly rare in Britain. Being largely brown and one of our smallest butterflies it can be a real challenge to find. Last year I didn't see any of these, today about half a dozen.
