Workshop Wednesday!!

What a fun day l have had.. at a stone carving workhop for beginners!!  It was a revelation!  The main picture shows the early beginnings of the shell water bath.  It is about 12 inches across to give some scale to it.  The workshop was only 5 hours long and having never stone carved before l had on idea what was achievable.  It was a great experience but we barely stopped as we had so much to do in the short time available.  Still it was worth going without lunch l am sure!!  When l got home l washed it down and filled it with water... l am sure l could go on working on it and might well do over the summer when the urge takes me.  l include an extra of the carving at home with water in it.. not that obvious at the moment  and l have a thought it might not actually hold water as it is made of sandstone!!  Hey ho!!  At least  it might hold a little after a rain shower so the birds can have a sip of water at leisure!!!
