World Tour of Scotland - 23 The Road Home

The morning of Day 23 and we are pulling off the caravan site. Had to use this shot! This afternoon we will be back in our own homes after our 2,000 mile tour.

What can I say to sum up? I have never been away for 22 days before. I have never seen so many new places and I have never seen so many new wildlife species in that time. Awesome!

My first sighting of a golden eagle, a white-tailed sea eagle a black guillemot, whimbrel and a cuckoo and an otter on land made it very special.

A whistle-stop tour aimed at showing  me the north of Scotland and some of the isles. Fabulous!

Mountains, rocks, beaches, moorland and historic places were exciting to see.

Of course it would have been nice to linger longer in places but, that wasn't the idea of the tour. I now know what I would like to see again, more slowly. Everything!

The friendliness of those I met along the way made it so enjoyable. Making toast, from blipper, richard's, Loch Fyne wild garlic bread and frying fruit pudding with sausage and egg were new culinary delights!

The things I saw at the start of this tour seem as if they were on a holiday last year! Incredible! So long ago. I will, eventually fill in a few more bits of the story and re-read all the lovely comments that I wasn't able to reply to on the move.
