'Tea Brack' (Bread).....
Had a go at making this Tea Brack as it is very traditional in Ireland at this time of year.......the word in Irish to describe it is 'breac' and it means 'speckled' which refers to the fruit in the dough....!
This is a recipe that I 'tweaked' to suit ourselves...using orange/lemon zest and vanilla essence instead of the usual spices......but I'm afraid I lost the 'run' of myself with the Irish Whiskey and it literally 'staggered' out of the oven.....reeking of whiskey..(I had soaked the fruit overnight in the tea/whiskey mix)......!
We had a slice with a cup of coffee just a while ago and it is really delicious...yum...
And because there is no fat of any kind in the recipe you can feel free to butter your slice or toast it.....!
