CAB 1

AKA Car Assembly Building number 1. SHH remembers it well as it was at the Austin in Longbridge that he started his working life many years ago.  This is an enormous photo of it which is displayed in the foyer of a beautiful retirement village now built on some of the Longbridge factory land.  I attended a meeting there this morning and there were some great old photos of memorabilia of the site's former "Glory" including a mini hanging up high on the wall.  It was so interesting.

The saga of the Bank continues, but it's too amazing and frustrating to write about.  Maybe I will tell  you about it one day but it also involves my dad transferring some money which there was no need to do.  I thought I had explained things clearly for him (I hate having to do that for my Dad who was once so sharp), but I obviously hadn't.  He seems to get a fixed idea and then no matter what I say, the fixed idea stays and then I have to end up sorting it all out.  We try to laugh our way through it, but deep inside I  know he is hurting and feeling the difference between now and how things used to be...
