Paella

Paella by El Palacido Real Madrid....

This is a lovely way to end a short city break. Also, with a bottle of fine Rioja. The palace is free after 6pm for Europeans - but the man on entry expressed his deep sadness that this will end with Brexit and could not understand why so many British had made this decision. We agreed with him and hoped this madness would end one day when people woke up.

The palace is fantastic internally with such riches and splendour. It makes you realise how the elite and aritocracies lived (and still live). We all pay for it of course - and I am sure that there are many factions in power that are working hard to return us all to a life of serfdom.

Still, the weather is glorious, the city is buzzing and the Rioja is wonderfully curative. Perhaps we should all become Madrilenos.
