It's a library, but not as we know it..

I had a stroll around our revamped library space today. The library has been completely remodelled as part of the campus redevelopment. I had been into the new library several times but I wanted to see what it was like in the middle of the day when there are lots of students around.

I was impressed. It certainly isn't like people's view of a traditional library but, with the abundance of online materials, libraries obviously have to adapt. There are still bookshelves and silent study areas (upstairs) but the heart of the library is this large space where students work in groups and have access to a huge range of resources.

It had a nice buzz about the place.
