Baby Figs
Up at the allotment this afternoon; cutting grass, raking, hoeing, de-heading daffs, pruning, even planted a few seeds saved from a squash of some sort. The courgette seedlings are hardening off in the hut, the spuds are chitting away merrily and can go in next week. It's all go, if still a slow go. But surprise, surprise - the fig tree seems to like its corner spot and has started to fruit. These little guys are about a half-centimeter big so they need to go some but I'm hopeful that the birds won't know what they are and we actually get a fig crop. That'd be something!
