Crossing the river

When we arrived yesterday we found that one of the tyres on the car had a puncture so when we returned from our days walking a bit earlier than expected, Thechimp and I took the opportunity to take our car to a garage in Matlock. To be fixed. Unfortunately it turned out that the puncture was just the tip of a rather unpleasant iceberg - the car had also developed a diesel leak and was dripping diesel everywhere. The upshot of all this is that we will have to wait until Monday for a part to be delivered before the car will be fixed and safe to drive again. We have to go home on Monday so hopefully it can be done relatively speedily. The engineer who looked at our car was great and his boss asked him to drive us the 20 minutes back to where we are staying.
