all action
I worked from home today, lots of international calls made whilst looking out of the study window to watch the action in the garden. It was all go today. The fledged robins have been hiding under the hedge and shrubs for the last week but are now getting braver and were out in the open asking to be fed. The blackbird was feeding. A wren collected nesting material and appears to have a nest behind the shed.
To top it all off the blue tit chicks hatched today. Whilst mom had popped out we watched one of them break out of the egg. Mom carefully peeled half of the egg away and took it out of the nest straight away, came back and did the same again with the other half. It's hard to count all of the little tangled red bodies but 2 eggs appeared in tact and there were 12 eggs.
dad kept appearing with food passing it to mom who carefully fed the tiny mouths. Fingers crossed for good nest box cam year.
