Steve is home!

I picked him up this afternoon at the hospital, Doctor approved! Steve has made great progress in the last 24 hrs. His total hip replacement was on Wednesday morning, about 55 hours ago, wow! Physical Therapy starts right away and that really helps. He's on pain meds for now and they are doing their job because when he was in the hospital I know his pain level was a lot worse.

Since he's been home he's gotten out of the car, gone up 3 stairs into the house & maneuvered his way around the kitchen, bedroom & porch with the walker. On the porch he tested out a chair we set up with extra cushions & it passed the "No 90 degree bend at the hip rule". 

He tells me he wants to do things himself to keep moving and not let his muscles get stiff, so I am not to do anything he could! He has a grabber stick and a stretchy sling good for moving the foot on his operated side. Then he got into bed (no small feat!) lay down and did some leg exercises and took a nap! 

He's gonna be okay.
