Kirkstone Pass

Tom and I popped into the Lake District today. Tom drove, I took sturgeron (travel sick pill), and off we went. We managed to get to Ambleside and have lunch plus a potter around before heading up 'The Struggle' to Kirkstone. I must admit, the Inn did look rather run down and in need of some TLC.
There were lots of signs up saying '2000 cyclists will be here on Sunday 13th May.'t
This is for the Fred Whitton Challenge. A 112 mile, 5 passes sportive. Tom did it, and completed it, some years ago. I can't even begin contemplating riding a bike up any of the major passes. Anyway good luck to them all competing.
