A Sterling Engine

A very different day to last Saturday - it was cooler this morning and then it started raining from lunch time. We have been pottering about at home, and I seemed to spend an extraordinary amount of time trying to upload something to sell on e-bay - just because I was not sure how to do it but it is very straight forward once you know the steps. 

This image is of Thomas demonstrating to me how a Sterling engine works - this was part of a individual investigation project for Physics at school - however in this demonstration he had to use a candle for the heat source as we don't have ethanol at home. He was calculating and investigating the power and efficiency of this little engine, and comparing it to other types of engines. He is very interested in this type of thing.

Despite the rain we want to have a BBQ tonight - I bought some delicious lamb kebabs and wild boar sausages from our local butcher which should be good on the BBQ.
