Animal Experience
Today my two daughters, my future son-in-law and myself took part in a half day animal experience at Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom near Telford. We were meet by the keepers and split into three groups of eight our first stop was to meet Duma the serval who unnfortunately was not very co-operative and didn't want to come and say hello but H. managed a sneeky pet. Next we went to meet the owls and we got to hold a Spectacled Owl called Specsaver (that's him in the picture) who was actually used in one of the Harry Potter films (an ostrich who is also resident at the farm was videoed and his movements were used in another film for the Griffyndor). We then met up with another keeper who took us in to meet a couple of their hand reared meerkats one perched on my shoulder and sat there for ages just watching the world go by he then decided he rather liked A's hood on his sweatshirt we then went and hand fed the lemurs they were so cute. The last keeper then took us to meet some of the reptiles we held a tenrac (similar to a tiny hedgehog), a snake and we then met the giant tortoise. It was then time for lunch, Cheesy Chips yummy!. After lunch we walked around the farm to see some of the other animals before coming home. We all had a lovely day.
